Cards game for players
Goal of the demonstrator
The DestinE Earth Pulse demonstrator aims to illustrate the capabilities of the DestinE Platform environment through an interactive game that combines local climate, socio-economic, and satellite information. Designed for non-expert users, the game allows players to explore data and create their own customised versions without any coding skills. By leveraging DestinE Platform services to access and process Climate Digital Twin data, Eurostat statistics, and Copernicus satellite imagery at NUTS-3 level, the demonstrator showcases how complex information can be transformed into engaging, accessible experiences. Packaged as a mobile-friendly game that can be easily shared and played, Earth Pulse serves as an entry point for new audiences, raising awareness and visibility of the Destination Earth initiative beyond its traditional user community.

How to play?
Goal of the game
Each card in the deck showcases a location, packed with real-world climate stats. The mission? Outsmart the opponents by picking the right stat and winning all the cards!
Game types
Solo — Go head-to-head against a clever bot.
Multiplayer — Challenge up to 4 players total.
Setup
The starting player is randomly selected.
The 32 cards are shuffled and split evenly among all players.
How to play a round
Everyone peeks at the top card of their stack. The starting player chooses one indicator to compete on (e.g., Average temperature) and decides whether the highest or lowest value wins.
⏳ Players have 50 seconds to choose an indicator.
Winning a Round
Everyone reveals their card’s value for the chosen indicator. Whoever has the winning value (highest or lowest, depending on the choice) takes all the cards played that round.
Continuing the Game
Play continues for 6 rounds. Each round updates the scoreboard, tracking everyone’s progress.
💡 At any time, players can see their current score and the number of rounds left.
Scoring isn’t just about winning rounds — it also considers the power of the indicator picked. Some stats carry more weight than others.
Winning the Game
The game ends when a player collects all the cards or 6 rounds are completed. Whoever has the highest score at the end is crowned the champion!
Leaderboard
Final rankings are shown at the end of the game. The latest score is saved on the daily and general scoreboard.
